9 Dragons
By Michael Connelly
9
Dragons represents the 15th book in
bestselling author Michael Connelly's "Harry Bosch" detective
series. For an author who turns out at least one book a year, the
storytelling
in 9 Dragons is spot on.
Weaving a tale of intrigue
and mystery that begins with the brutal slaying of an old Chinese man
in South L.A., Detective Harry Bosch finds himself getting deeper and
deeper into a world completely unknown to him - that of an Asian triad
based in Hong Kong. When someone very close to Bosch is taken,
Harry heads to Hong Kong to take back what is his. Once there, Harry
realizes that nothing is what it seems - and that no one can be
trusted.
Michael Connelly, a former
newspaper reporter, has authored 21 fiction novels and one non-fiction
work that compiles stories from Connelly's days as a journalist.
With two movies already made from his novels - and three more on
the way - Connelly is finally getting the recognition that he deserves.
9
Dragons is a story that anyone who
likes mysteries will enjoy. You don't need to read the other 14
books in the Harry Bosch series in order to understand the current
mystery at hand - but it would help if you did.
The audiobook is read with gusto by
Emmy Award-winning actor Len Cariou. If you didn't know any
better, you would swear you were listening to a gritty L.A. cop radio
show; all you would need was the background music.
Very entertaining and engaging,
Connelly succeeds again with 9 Dragons, and he shows no signs of letting up. For more
