     The Sarofim School of Fine Arts at Southwestern University hosts a faculty recital by Eri Lee Lam, violin and Vincent Lam, piano, in a program of works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Claude-Achille Debussy, Alan Ridout, Astor Piazzolla and Wilhelm Peterson-Berger.  The free concert plays on Saturday, October 6th, in the Alma Thomas Theater.
     Associate Professor Eri Lee Lam is an extensive performer and has garnered many prizes in local and international competitions, including the Pearl Amster Competition in Austin, the Austin Symphony Young Artist Competition, the San Antonio Symphony Young Artist Competition and the Wednesday Morning Music Club Competition in Austin.  She has played in numerous chamber concerts and recitals throughout the U.S. and South Korea including the Round Top Festival, Brigham Young University, University of Houston, Texas Tech University, the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Chosun University.
     Dr. Lam has also served as concertmaster in several orchestras and has been a soloist with the San Antonio Symphony and Austin Civic Orchestra.  She has recorded selected works of the French composer Charles Dancla.
    Vincent Lam joined the piano faculty of Southwestern University in 2006 where he currently teaches applied piano.  He has performed solo and chamber music recitals throughout the United States and in South Korea including Brigham Young University, University of Houston, Texas Tech University and the Chosun University.
    Dr. Lam’s performances in music festivals include the Georgetown Festival of the Arts and the Interlochen Center for the Arts, and he has also recorded music of the French composer Charles Dancla with Eri Lee Lam.
     Dr. Lam serves frequently as an adjudicator for the Pearl Amster Competition sponsored by the Austin Civic Orchestra, and he has personally won the first prize at the James Tatem Piano competition and the fourth prize at Young Keyboard Artist Association International Piano competition.  Prior to coming to Southwestern University, Dr. Lam was a member of the piano faculty at the St. Joseph's School of Music in St. Paul, MN, and a teaching assistant at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN.
     The performance begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public - no reservation required.  The Alma Thomas Theater is located at 1001 E.
