Medieval Macabre
The Baron’s Men
October 5th through 27th
The Curtain Theater

Two road weary travelers seek shelter from an impending storm in a country estate. The owner is a man with true insight into the supernatural, and the pair soon find themselves engaged in a literary debate with their accommodating - yet mysterious - host. A wager is set, and the travelers begin a harrowing journey through the library of this eccentric man.  The wager: Can literature be frightening?
The Baron's Men tread bravely through classic writings with their original Halloween-themed work, Medievil Macabre.  The new production runs October 5th through 27th at The Curtain Theatre.
The production explores the supernatural and the superstitious - with the super psychotic that riddle the pages of time.  The passages of literature bring to live a werewolf, troll, ghosts, demons and deranged humans with inner demons of their own.
The themed theatrical event takes place at The Curtain Theater, the only Elizabethan style theater in Austin on the estate of gaming guru Richard Garriott.  The adventure takes audience members down a winding road that leads to a magical place hidden away under 100 year old pecan trees on the shores of Lake Austin.  The mischief, mayhem and ghoulish goodies will set the tone in the Malady Marketplace preceding the show.
Performances run Friday and Saturday evenings, with added Thursday performances on October 18th and 25th.  Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for students and seniors.  The box office and the Malady Marketplace will open at 7 p.m., with the performance beginning at dusk.
The Curtain Theater is located at 7400 Coldwater Canyon.  For more information and advance tickets, visit
