"Night Owl and Early Bird" Art Event to Bring Together Artists and Supporters

Big Medium presents its second annual fundraising event - "Night Owl and Early Bird" - connecting community arts with their supporters on March 12th and 13th.  Organizers say the two day event is both a call to artists and to art supporters.

On March 12th, from 6 p.m. to midnight, Big Medium invites all community artists to gather for an evening of interactive art-making.  Organizers say the evening will be structured as an opportunity to meet, brainstorm and create with more than 50 other artists, to produce collaborative work in one night.  Pencils and paper will be available, and artists are encouraged to bring any additional supplies. Beer and pizza will also be provided.
The on March 13th, following the late night of collaborative artmaking, the community will be invited to a morning art reception to view the results of the experimental practice. In addition to breakfast treats and coffee, the public will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of unique artwork created by the combined efforts of local artists.
All proceeds from "Night Owl and Early Bird" will help fund Big Medium, the Texas Biennial, and the East Austin Studio Tour.  Big Medium is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to be a catalyst for the advancement of the visual arts and artists in Austin, providing opportunities for a diverse and growing audience to engage and experience the visual arts.
Big Medium is located at 5305 Bolm Road, #12, and both events are free and open to the public.  For more information, call (512) 385-1670 or visit www.BigMedium.org.
