Birth of the Cool:
California Art, Design, and Culture at Midcentury
Blanton Art Museum
February 22nd through May 17th
     Austin is the sole venue in the Southwest United States for
     the exhibit celebrating American modernism designs of the
     1950s, and the Blanton appearance will be the only
    opportunity to see the show in this part of the country.

The Lining of Forgetting:
Internal & External Memory in Art

May 30th through August 9th
     Family photo albums, Road Runner cartoons, the works of
     Shakespeare, and Barack Obama’s presidential primary
     campaign are just some of the subjects in the international
    exhibition that explores the ways we remember.

     Rodriguez’s decade-long project reconfigures the 50 states
     and explores the addition of five new “states” - Hollywood,
     Internet, Monopoly, Territory and Disney - that newly define
    our perceived geographic version.
