Pet Supply Donation Earns Ticket Discount for George Thorogood Concert at Paramount

"Bad to the Bone" rocker George Thorogood and his band the Destroyers are throwing their fans a bone - that is, if the fans throw one back.  In exchange for a donation of new or gently used pet supplies at the Paramount Box Office, patrons can receive a $5 discount for

tickets to Thorogood's March 10th concert at the historic downtown theatre.
Donors to the "Bad to the Bone" Pet Supplies Drive and receive $5 off tickets purchased to the George Thorogood concert, plus two free drinks and free parking.  All donations will benefit the Austin Humane Society
Thorogood and his band have been performing for more than 30 years.  Best known for hits that include "Bad to the Bone," George Thorogood and the Destroyers came out of Delaware in the '70s as a jarringly high-energy bunch whose raucous, slide guitar-stoked, blues-rock takes on tunes by Chuck Berry, Elmore James, John Lee Hooker, Bo Diddley and others helped land them a record contract.
"Let's put it this way," Thorogood says, "Dylan has a Rolls-Royce dealership. I have a used Chevy dealership. But I'm in the business. That's all I wanted from this thing. A gig, man. And I got a gig."
Tickets for George Thorogood and the Destroyers at the Paramount Theatre are $30 to $55.  Doors and the bar open at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. curtain; musicians Moreland & Arbuckle open the show.
The Paramount Theatre is located at 713 Congress Avenue.  For tickets and information, call 1-866-9PROTIX (977-6849) or visit www.AustinTheatre.org.
