Joel McHale
May 19th
The Long Center
Actor and comedian
Joel McHale will stop at The Long Center for a one-night
stand-up comedy performance on Saturday, May 19th, starting at
8 p.m. Tickets will go on sale to the public this
Thursday, April 12th.
One of Hollywood's
fastest rising stars, McHale's quick wit and sharp comedic
timing is best witnessed live. The Long Center
performance will combine the stand-up comedian and actor's
snarky views on pop culture - honed by hosting E!'s wildly
popular show "The Soup" - with tales from the set of
his NBC Thursday-night comedy "Community" and stories
of the day-to-day hilarity of being a husband and father.
McHale recently
appeared in the films What's Your
Number?, opposite Anna Faris, and The Big Year with
Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson. He also starred
opposite Matt Damon in The Informant
and had roles in Spider-Man II, Lords of Dogtown and locally-filmed favorite Spy Kids: All the Time in the World alongside Jessica Alba and Jeremy Piven.
Born in Rome and
raised in Seattle, Washington, McHale was a History major at
the University of Washington - where he also was a member of
their championship football team. He turned to comedy
after completing his Master's of Fine Arts from U.W.'s Actor's
Training Program. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife
and two sons.
Tickets for the
Austin performance start at $39 and will be available at The
Long Center's 3M Box Office - located at 701 West Riverside
Drive at South First Street - by phone at (512) 474-LONG (5664)
and online at www.TheLongCenter.org.
