ROCK: The Improvised Rock Opera
Saturdays in May and June
Hideout Theater

The award-winning producers and improvisers at The Hideout Theatre put their creative powers to work this May and June for the premier of their newest production - ROCK: The Improvised Rock Opera.  The fully-improvised, highly energetic, one-of-a-kind live rock opera will be created each Saturday night in May and June.
Top musicians and performers from Austin's immense improv and music scenes will join forces each week to create an all-singing, all-dancing, all-original night of comedy and music.  The production is directed by Kacey Samiee - from Girls Girls Girls Improvised Musicals - and internationally touring musician and composer Michael Brockman
A rock opera is a work of rock music that presents a storyline told over multiple parts, songs or sections in the manner of opera.  Each Saturday night, a new story will be created live on stage with suggestions from the audience.  Most of the weekly rock opera's dialog will be sung, and all of the show - from music to lyrics - will be improvised on the spot.
Performances will be staged on Saturdays at 8 p.m. in May and June.  Tickets are $12 for general admission.
The Hideout Theatre is located at 617 Congress Avenue in downtown Austin.  For more information, call (512) HIDE-OUT (443-3688) or visit www.HideoutTheatre.com.
