As soon as we get
through all the madness that is SXSW, I’ll sit down to
write a proper review of Zachary Scott Theatre’s
new production of The Grapes of
Wrath. So in the
meantime, suffice to say - go see this
show!

The production values are
amazing, and the cast is stellar - especially Austin actor
extraordinaire Marc Pouhe as the fallen preacher Jim Casy.
Dave Steakley has created another Austin theatre
masterpiece, weaving music director Allen Robertson’s
Depression era tunes through the action. And the
transformation of the intimate Kelberg Stage into an organic
dustbowl is stunning, complete with a torrential rainstorm in
Act II.
