June 15, 2010 - M2 Lounge in the Warehouse District
Restaurateur Joe Reynolds is transforming his Saba Blue Water
Café space - located at 208 W. 4th Street, next door to
Cedar Street - into the new M2 Lounge. The revamped space
will be positioned as a gay and lesbian lounge, complete with
handcrafted cocktails and an
Reynolds has recruited
local chefs Mat Clouser
(Vespaio, Uchi, Kenichi) and Mark Strouhal (Whole Foods, Mansion at Judges Hill, Kenichi) to
create modern American cuisine offerings - mainly small plates
- with an emphasis on global flavors and techniques combined
with an emphasis on local ingredients. Menu selections will include beet chips with green olive dust,
local grilled peaches with Round Rock honey, and even antelope
kabobs with grilled watermelon.
M2 will also feature a big
selection of hard-to-find affordable wines, along with craft
beers and a variety of excellent spirits and simple, elegant
cocktails. Reynolds said that M2 is designed to be
"a chef driven concept with eyes on providing lounge
couture cuisine to a wide variety of patrons in the Warehouse
District.
